Differing perspectives do not mean that your vision is wrong. 12/27/2011

You've got to follow your passion and your own personal way of doing something. Sometimes, the 'wrong' way is the right way -- you just have to wait for everyone to realise the earth is round, that's all.

      Tarot For November, 2011 11/01/2011
      0 Comments

Knight Of Wands, 3 Of Disks, Prince Of Wands

The key element this month is work – our own personal working environment and the economy in general. There'll be more development this month to the Wall Street Uprising and similar movements that may begin.

There's an element of being burnt out – exhausted and used to the limit of our extremities. We only have two choices: allow ourselves to be burnt out, or rebel.

Many of us are feeling an inextinguishable urge to seek out our passions and create some kind of career out the things that we love and the things that drive us. Many of us are no longer motivated by money alone, or ambition alone, but the desire that makes that ambition worthwhile. For many of us this month, that will be our focus, and we'll be thinking strongly about how we can change our working environment to suit our passions.

In the air, there is also a slight sense of chaos. Nothing too horrendous, but the kind of chaos that heralds the beginning of change – needed change. Things that had been organised and disciplined, even peaceful, will now carry a feeling of disarray. Rigid authorities will try to make out that everything is going to hell, but this is not necessarily the case – the “chaos” actually has an agenda and it will strive to be realised.

Those in positions of orthodox or capitalist power will feel quite sensitive to being made a fool of this month, and it could even be that someone, or a company, in such a position will make a very wrong decision about something that questions their credibility to the public eye. On a smaller scale, if you've always felt that your boss is a bit dodgy, you may very well get the proof this month!

On a spiritual level, our eyes continue to open, and we are beginning to see our own personal pots of gold at end of our rainbows. Those that do, will stand for earning nothing less.

Since I have started to write about angels in my fiction novels, I have the calling to turn one Angel Card for every monthly reading: this month it's Healing.

As the above happens around us, focus on what we can do to help and heal the people around us. This does not have to be on a worldwide, large scale, rather look to healing your family, friends and loved ones. Healing, like charity, begins at home, and the smallest act of kindness, makes a monumental difference.

These monthly tarot readings are conducted by tuning into the energies of the planet and its planetary alignment with the immediate universe (the solar system). They give you a generalised view of what is about to happen in the world (at least most probably), both on a larger scale and within your own internal world. All is connected. As above, so below.

By law, I have to state that all of my readings are for entertainment purposes only and should be treated as such.

      Picture
I'm an Indigo Essences Certified Practitioner and I just wanted to briefly give you my thoughts on this system of vibrational medicine.

Firstly, they're great for children. They were created specifically with children in mind and many adults take them too, especially when working with their "inner-child" (a term to describe the child-like part of an adult's personality, particularly when considering why it's there and where it might be stuck).

They are created using the essences of crystals and stones, as well as infused with information which is channelled.

My personal perspective on the essences: they're modern, definitely for now and all the problems of now; they're tough (they're energy is hard to diffuse); they seem to adapt a little to suit the individual when taken, so are suitable for everyone (or at least everyone I've come across); very sensitive and open people work well with these essences, sometimes better than with other systems, like the Australian Bush Remedies; this essence system can be both soft and gentle and hard-hitting; I've been able to find an essence for every ailment I've come across in practice; they are excellent if, as a practitioner, you work on the energetic / karmic levels during a consultation, which I tend to do (as opposed to completely honing in on the physical symptoms); they are great at breaking through boundaries in your psyche.

If the above has captured you, please do visit the Indigo Essences home page - the website is beautifully designed with so much information, but most importantly, the feel of the essences really comes through when you read the site.

If you see any essences you like, I can also make up a bespoke combination for you -- just drop me a line via the Contact Form.

Would love to hear from anyone who's had interesting experiences with the Indigo Essences - feel free to comment below.

      Questions Of Self-Worth 09/08/2011

      Picture
The only things that ever hold us back are ourselves, and more often than not, our commitments are avoided and our dreams and ambitions put on hold because we do not feel that we are worthy of them. And where this is the case, we’re also very good at deluding ourselves into believing we never had those dreams in the first place:-

      1. well, I never wanted a white wedding anyway
      2. money’s not important so I don’t want it
      3. I’m happy renting a flat, why on earth do I want to own a house?
      4. I’m happy not having the job where I earn loads of money
      5. I AM happy in the relationship I’m in – he / she really is what I’ve always wanted… (not meaning to be rude to “he” and “she”!).

This is all great if you’re genuinely happy and don’t want those other things(!), except the problem for most of us is, that when we were 5, 10, 13 maybe even 15 (remember the ages when pure, undiluted thoughts came from your ‘higher self'? - before expectations of others and yourself moulded you into rights and wrongs?) we did want those things! And it was never a question of greed or pride – it was about self worth and recognition:-

I want to earn the money because I’m worth it; I want the beautiful, white, wedding dress because I want to be recognised for who I am, for all those things I don’t allow myself to want or be anymore because, well, there are other things, which are just as good … really, they are just as good …

So did you change your values for the better? - because you believed you were worth more than the things you wanted (why on earth would you want them in the first place then?) or did you change your values because you didn’t believe you were worth what you wanted?

It’s food for thought and worth thinking on as most of us know at least one person who falls into the above category, and I (just as almost every complementary health therapist I know) have certainly not been immune to questions of self-worth, the famous “poverty-consciousness” and the willing self-delusion that comes as a result of it. If you find yourself fitting the above category at any time, try taking a course of Wild Oat (Bach Flower Remedies) for a couple of weeks and you may just find yourself with realigned priorities and back on your “physical-world / material path”, on the way to manifesting those pure, undiluted dreams that form an all-important part of who you are.

Essences Sensing: You Have The Power Within You 09/08/2011

      Picture
Anyone can do this, although if you're new to it, it will take time and practice to get it down to a fine art. Essence Sensing! Yes, read the explanations and meanings given for all the essences, but at the end of the day, you will be the one taking it and there is no one else on the planet like you! YOU may (and probably definitely will) react differently to an essence than your best friend, husband, wife, mother, sister and neighbour, so YOU must decide which essences are best for you. During my consultations, I always try to ask the client to hold and "tune into" the essences I am prescribing, especially if there is a choice between two or three and it's unclear which to go for. You will always know - your body always knows. And although some like to have guidance with this, you can also do it at home....

Hold the essence(s) you feel you need in your hand (or both hands) ... close your eyes, take three deep breaths in and out, then feel the energy from the bottle(s) in your hands. Do they feel heavy or light? Comfortable or uncomfortable? Do you see any colours or images in your mind? Do you hear any messages? How does your body feel? Is your tummy ok? Do your legs feel strong or weak? Anything else?

Take note of everything that comes to you no matter how bizarre it might seem. You can try this with a number of essences that you think you might need. Then take a look at your notes... you may find that what you thought you needed wasn't what you need right now after all, or it was spot on! A "story" may take shape out of what you've experienced, pin-pointing areas of your life that you may need to work on initially.

After taking your chosen essences for your required length of time, go back to this meditation with either the same essences or other ones that you think you need now: you may find that you've worked through more than you originally realised and another layer is now ready to be peeled.

This process may sound complicated if you are not used to it, but it only requires practice and trust in yourself - everyone possesses the ability to know what they need and to heal themselves with this knowledge. Trust your instincts, always.

Does anyone have any words they'd like to share about their "essence sensing" experiences? It would be great to hear it - feel free to comment below.

      Tarot As Therapy 09/08/2011
      0 Comments

      Picture
I do believe that the Tarot was originally used for prophesy and by some people still is. It is and always will be a tool of divination. However, the emphasis in today's world is using this tool for guidance on an often stormy path. "I'm at a point of no return, should I go forwards?" or "I know I need a change in my circumstances, but I don't know how to facilitate it ", are examples of queries that people wanting a reading will come in with.

The aim is not to tell the future and certainly not to tell people what to do. It is to guide them by allowing them to see the potential possible outcomes with each decision that is made and to focus the client on what they really want. One of the things that Tarot can do best is bring a cloudy situation into focus and give you confirmation that things are actually ok (and very occasionally, that they're not!).

Everyone has Free Will and is encouraged to use this by the reader and the Universe.

The end result is usually clarity, security and a feeling that you are not alone after all! Having said that, there are occasions when you will be told things that you do not want to hear, however, these will be things that you already know deep down inside and need to face in order to move onto the place you really want to be at.

So what makes this different from a counselling or any other therapy session? I suppose Tarot is a little bit like a spiritual messaging service, which includes a bit of a search both into your subconscious and into the Universe, to help you on your path. Almost always there are 'messages' given to you that your Guides want you to know about and consider. The reader is also not your counsellor. They are someone who is practiced in some form of psychism enough to pass those messages onto you and if they are also experienced enough in life (age is not necessarily a factor here) they will be able to relay those messages in a way you can understand and make use of them.

Hopefully, I've been able to help you understand how Tarot works in a therapeutic way, particularly in this day and age, where all souls are asked to think for themselves and take responsibility for their lives, just the way it is.

An Example Of How Tarot Flows 09/08/2011

      Picture
I remember giving a reading at a psychic fair to a lady and the issue of abundance and fertility came up - if I remember correctly, it was in relation to her home and business venture which would be very much tied to her home. Right on cue, a humongous bumble bee (symbolising fertility, production and being the 'Queen' of your own home) buzzed right in and landed on her chest. The answer to her question was an affirmative! When you read the cards, you are not just looking at what is happening in front of you on a 2-dimensional level. You're looking at everything around you. You're reading in 3D and beyond. The universe will work with you to help you read to your client.

I call this kind of divination 'reading omens' but I'm sure there's a proper name for it. Omens surround us everyday. It just needs us to be able to see and understand them, before we can effectively utilise them into our lives.

In another example, I was reading for quite a spiritually advanced person and we were reaching a point in the reading where an epiphany or realisation was coming into play and BANG! Something fell from one of the stalls behind the client, again, right on cue.

An omen will look, feel or sound 'different' to other things around you. This is how I know that the bee landing on the lady and the huge clutter are not just random coincidences (not sure there's any such thing anyway) - they are things that appear to me surrounded by a sheen that says, "pay attention, this is important!"

The more you learn to read the Tarot and work with the universe, the more these things will begin to happen. Not just when reading the cards, but in everyday life, when walking down the street, or eating lunch.

      Tarot flows....

Tarot: The Question Of Reading For Yourself 09/08/2011
      0 Comments

      Picture
Some people think you can and some people think you can't. In either case, a lot of readers are very judgmental about this.

Well, the final word on it is going to be down to you isn't it? Only you are going to know whether you can read for yourself or not!

I can read for myself, but often don't need to as I spot messages in omens and the things happening around me quite readily. This is how Spirit tells me stuff. Through omens and day to day messages. When I don't get it, am ignoring it, don't see it, Spirit sends the message with more oomph and I realise I need to find a way to understand it. In these occasional instances, is when I'll turn a card (usually one, no more than three) for myself. And there it is - loud and clear. How could I have missed it?! When I was first learning to read the Tarot, I couldn't read for myself. It was all too confusing when I was trying to learn the meaning of the cards for others (rather than me - the meanings are actually slightly different when doing a reading for yourself). During this time, I saw a Clairvoyant for guidance, maybe 3 times in about a year and a half and it helped a great deal.  After about 3 years of reading the Tarot, I then discovered that I was beginning to be able to read for myself. It was a lesson in learning the meaning of the cards in a different way. And when I had learnt this lesson, Spirit decided that I didn't need the cards anymore, I could read the signs in life and nature instead.

I once had some random lady come into a shop I worked at asking if I wanted a Tarot reading. I replied, "Thanks, but that's ok - I can read for myself." And I was about to offer to take her number in case anyone else was interested, when she replied very snootily at point blank, "You can't read for yourself, no one can."

Hmmmm, thanks Little Miss I Know Everything, but you don't know me! And finally, off she went in a huff!  If you encounter this kind of behaviour, please don't listen to it or under any circumstance get a reading from this kind of person. They are not there to empower you. They are there to tell you what to do and gain some kind of power over you.

Not everyone can read the Tarot for themselves, but that's ok! Some people dowse, some people just 'see', some people think logically on something for ages then come up with a solution, and some people go and see their Tarot reader once a year... these are all different and valid ways of finding an answer to something (whether spiritual or not). You and your Spirit Guides will have a way of knowing how you come to solutions about your life.

You know best and are the master of your own destiny.

Combining Flower Remedies For Yourself 09/08/2011
      0 Comments

      Picture
How do you combine flower remedies for yourself? How do you choose which remedies are the most important? Why only seven remedies?

For obvious reasons, diagnosing and combining for yourself is going to be a bit more difficult than taking a consultation and diagnosing for someone else. In a way, you need to stand outside of yourself and try to look at things objectively. The below scenario will give you key points to focus on when doing this and should be used as a guide rather than a rule book.

Firstly, decide on the most imminent problem that you currently have – what is the thing that is bringing you the most amount of disease and disharmony? This isn't as easy as it sounds when you're angry, a bit depressed, have menopausal symptoms, your husband's just left you and you've started to get arthritis in your right hand! What's more prevalent, the anger or depression? Do you feel grief? You're sure you should, but where is it? Actually, maybe you're only feeling all of these things so much because you're menopausal – maybe you should treat the menopause? Etc!

To be objective, it's important to use a bit of logic as well as instinct. Most women have menopausal symptoms later in life and you were due to go through the menopause anyway, so that probably isn't the cause of all your problems. You're husband leaving probably triggered the symptoms, but you can't bring him back, so let's momentarily put that to one side. You can't feel any grief, nor can you force yourself to, so don't worry about that so much at the moment. This leaves the anger, mild depression and the arthritis. Well the depression just comes and goes, it's more copeable with and it doesn't press your buttons as much as when you're angry. You know the arthritis has gotten worse since you became so angry, and you're pretty sure that if the arthritis miraculously disappeared, you'd still be damn angry! So we're left with anger.

When you have pin-pointed this, treat only that. Working with vibrational remedies is like peeling an onion, the onion, being symbolic of all your problems – you can only shed one layer at a time. You can only see the layer beneath once you have taken off the one on top.

In the above example, you have decided to treat the anger. Treat this before anything else, even if you know the reason behind the anger and all the other symptoms you have. Often what happens is, that you'll treat the anger, the anger becomes more manageable and starts to fade and you can suddenly see how to deal with the cause of it, or you end up realising that what you think is the cause actually isn't. In the above scenario, you may begin to cry two weeks after starting on the combination you've made for the anger you have… here is the grief. Then, you look at remedies to treat the grief, and so on.

If you feel that two symptoms are so intrinsically linked that you need to treat them both at the same time - as is often the case, but sometimes hard to see objectively (ie, you think that the anger and mild depression are two sides of the same coin) - then do this. There will be no harm in treating them both at the same time if this is the case. What is best to avoid is a situation where you're trying to treat everything and end up treating nothing as you're body and mind aren't ready to process everything at the same time.

It may also be best to tell someone who understands what you're doing that you are treating yourself, unless you feel capable and strong enough to be your own support.

There is a suggestion that it's best not to use more than seven remedies per combination. This is simply because you should be able to focus enough on the situation to pick just one (or two if they're linked) thing that needs treating at a time – seven remedies is enough for this. If you look at a list of remedy descriptions and think there are ten you definitely need, then the chances are that you're not being objective enough in your diagnosis.

If self-diagnosis is not something you can do at present, then that's what a flower remedy practitioner is there for. Some people are very happy self-diagnosing and some never feel comfortable doing it; it really doesn't matter as long as you get better!

All in all, I believe that making remedy combinations for yourself help you to get to know yourself better and help you to get to know your remedies better. As this knowledge increases, it will be easier to understand the way your body and mind work, what grievances you're susceptible to, which flower remedies you respond the best to and how you get better.

*This method of choosing flower remedies applies mainly to Bach Flower Remedies and other flower remedy systems. Systems such as Indigo Essences recommend a more relaxed way to choose your essences. This can be viewed HERE. I've used both methods and ultimately, I believe that either method can be used with either system and that the method that suits you best will be the one that works best for you.

        About Dianna

        & Magic Realms

        Picture
My name is Dianna Hardy and I am an author of occult / mind-body-spirit books, gothic poetry, dark fantasy and paranormal romance (see DiannaHardy.com)

As well as my writing, I enjoy sharing with others my spiritual thoughts and experiences. I have been working with the unseen elements of the earth and the spiritual dimension for as long as I can remember, my earliest memory being at one year old, when I was taken by my mother to an ice sculpture of Snow White in her coffin within a cave in Portugal ... a moment which I immediately recognised as being important and have never forgotten. That Snow White was also the very first film I ever watched at the cinema at the age of three, left me with no doubt that the story of Snow White was significant to me somehow. It was not until many years later that I realised so much of what I did had a name and an orgin within Shamanic (and other) practices, and that Snow White was a symbolism for the path I was to follow: Death, Rebirth, Eve/Lillith and the Apple, and of course Love, the meaning of 'happily ever after' and the healing of broken hearts.

Consciously, I began to study Magic, Witchcraft and Shamanism (from different traditions) in 1999, finding excitement in knowing that many things I already did naturally, like journeying and communing with my Spirit Guides was 'normal'.

My main teachers have always been my Spirit Guides (different ones at different times), and I have been led to Earth Teachers every now and again to enhance my learning, focus my initiations and nudge me in the right direction, including Ivan McBeth and Dr Yubraj Sharma.  Learning is continuous within any form of spiritual practice, because energy and spirit is not solid - it always changes and transforms... I am always learning something new.

This website has come about because one of my previous sites, WitchWays (created on wanadoo-members Sitebuilder in 2003) came to an end. Most of what I held on that site is here. Within the Magic Realms you will find elements of how I live in and perceive the world, as well as some things I have learnt along the way. This site exists because I'm a creative person who likes to share her thoughts.

Living shamanically and the power of magic is something that I strongly believe is inherent and very much alive within all of us and whether we choose to take that further into a full blown practice is our choice.

This site is both an expression of who I am, of my choices and a window for you, so that you may catch a glimpse of your own magic realm, just waiting to be rediscovered.
